New Purse

Morning!!

I finished a new purse pattern the other dsy and I wanted to share it with you. The pattern is from Pink Sand Beach Designs and is their Manhattan Bag. It really turned out well. The original pattern doesn't have a pocket on the outside of the bag, so I sdded my own. I curved the bottom of the pocket and matched it with the curve of the bag and I tried to match the wedge strips. I did add the cording also to the pocket design.

Another New Tote

Morning Everyone,

How are you all doing??? I hope your weather has been cool. We've had some rather nice days this past week, though it has rained a lot.

I made a new tote last month that I am using for my cross stitch. It turned out pretty good. I used some wooden purse handles that I've had around for a long time. Here is a quick picture of it.

My Latest Handbag/Tote

Afternoon Everyone,

I hope you all are staying cool. Here in Ohio we have a much cooler day then we've had this past week. At least today when we go outside, we can breathe!!! The humidity isn't as bad as it's been!!

I finished a handbag/tote that I started this past Thursday morning and finished a little while ago. It turned out really nice. I put a magnetic clasp in it too. Here is a couple of pictures of the front and back:

Thread Net

Good Morning!!!

I hope you all are doing well and staying cool. We've hit 93° weather here for the past week and I thank air conditioning everyday!!

I wanted to show you some Thread Net. I use it to keep my thread from unraveling. I found some on eBay for $25.00 (including shipping) 100 pieces and they are 6 inches in length.

As you can see, I cut them to size to the thread I want to cover. I use the Thread Net on all of my thread. I haven't tested it on cone sized thread, but I'm pretty sure they will fit to size.

Just cut them to the size you need and your thread stays nice and neat.

I saw some Thread Net on eBay 4 inches in size. You can choose which size you want!!!

Hope this keeps your thread stored nice!!!!

Finished Dresden Plate Blocks

Morning Everyone,

I have finished all of my dresden plates (30 in total) and have managed to get 2 blocks done. These a couple of pictures.

The pink ribbon Dresden Plate is for my sister Sue. She's the one who got me interested in quilting. She was such a talent!! I lost her to breast cancer and miss her every day.

Morning All....What a Crazy Few Days!!!

To start my tale of woe, it began on Wednesday with the departure of my hubby. He was heading south to his 50th high school reunion. (Yes Grasshopper, we're old!) He went with his sister and brother-in-law. After he left I found I needed some black fabric so I went to my local quilt store, then made a trip to Walmart. I got back a couple hours later, not a care in the world.

I was looking at some embroidery patterns on line and my computer seemed to be running slow, so I restarted it. (pausing here to wait for my computer to reboot, still waiting, still waiting, ohhh nooo I'm still waiting. I wasn't really too worried about my computer as I bought it new 6 months ago, but I could not get my computer to reboot AT ALL!!!!! I was so frustrated!!! So I went to go watch some television and in the middle of a rerun of NCIS, the TV went out!!! Okay, by this time I was wondering what else could go wrong!!!! So I called Time Warner and 30 minutes later I had TV back!!! Between my uncooperating computer and the television I was done!!! I put a book on my MP3 and went to my quilting and 5 hours later I had finally finished my Dresden Plate fans. I was so jazzed that I had them done!!!!

I did have DH's computer to play with, but it doesn't have my links, etc. on it. When hubby got home among fireworks, balloons and candy (not really) I can say nothing else happened while he was gone. He did manage to fix my computer which was such a relief!!!

I will take a couple of pictures of my finished dresden plates and post them.

Happy Quilting!!!

Newest Sewing Machine Cover

Afternoon Everyone,

I forgot to show you my latest sewing machine cover. I use it for my Janome MC6500. I made it with some double sided quilted fabric I had in my stash. The scissors, pin cushion, etc. I used felt also in my stash. It's the first time I ever tried to make such things!!! The buttons are also fabric.

Martha's Happy Time

Martha is still in her 'puppy' stage in tearing things up. Since these pictures were taken, we have begun to place Martha in a crate. Things are a lot better!!!!!! (That's Tiffen, our Shih Tzu in the picture. She's 15 years old.)

Embroidery for Dresden Plate

Morning Everyone, Here is some of the Embroidery pieces I'm going to use in my Dresden Plate quilt. I've learned alot about my Janome 200e Embroidery machine. I'm a Janome lady and also have a MC6500. I'm hoping to one day own the Horizon 7700.

I'm going to make about 30 of them for the center of each Dresden Plate fan. I have a lot more to make!

Good Morning

I hope you all are doing well. It looks as though it is going to rain here and I'm going to get stuck in it!!! I have been working on my Dresden Plate tutorial and have finally finished all of my fans. There will be 30 of them. Now I am working on the centers of the fans. I am embroidering the centers as they are going to be white in color so the embroidery will show up nicely. At first I was going to do 30 of them, but since it seems to be taking a little longer than I expected, I think I'll only do about 15 of them. ;-)

I'm heading out this morning to run some errands. You all have a good day!!!
